IT Course Outlines

Sage – Basic
This course is aimed at those with a basic knowledge of computers but no experience of using Sage.  Topics covered will include the following: initial set up; Sage Line 50 desktop; inputting opening balances; entering invoices and credit notes; cash receipts and payments; bank reconciliations; trial balance; VAT; journal entries; month end routines; controls and checks, data back-up.
 
Sage – Intermediate
This course is aimed at those who have completed the Basic course or, alternatively, feel competent in the basics of Sage. The course builds on this existing knowledge and will include the following: budget reports; transactional reports; problems with bank and VAT reconciliations; layouts; stock control; order processing; accountant link; error correction and deletions; year end routines; archiving.
 
Sage – Advanced
This course is aimed at those who have completed the Intermediate course or, alternatively, feel they are competent at Intermediate level and ready to move on to the production of management reports.  Topics covered will include the following: introduction to report design; creation and amendment of reports; grouping and totalling; filters; editing group functions; multiple sub-totals; conditional properties; stationery layouts.
 
Sage Payroll - Basic
This one-day course is designed to cover the basics of computerised payroll. It is particularly aimed at those new to Sage Payroll who are working both in professional practice and in SMEs. This practical session will include: setting up new employees; setting up holiday schemes; regular and one-off payments and deductions; termination payments and processing leavers; attachment of earnings and statutory payments; period end reporting including year end.
